Cook County Helping Buy Hotels To Be Transformed Into Homeless Shelters

Cook County is helping buy two hotels in order to transform them into homeless shelters. County commissioners voted to spend nearly 14-million-dollars in loans for the purchase of the Margarita Inn in Evanston and the Write Inn in Oak Park. The loans are being paid with part of the one-billion-dollars county received in federal pandemic relief funding.
