Singer and Activist Harry Belafonte Has Died At The Age of 96

Grammy-Award winning singer and civil rights activist Harry Belafonte is dead at the age of 96. The "King of Calypso" died of congestive heart failure. He was best known for popularizing Caribbean folk songs, or calypsos, with an international audience in the 1950s. He was an early supporter of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s and was a close friend of Doctor Martin Luther King Junior.
